Does the YWCA have a pool and weight room?
No, the YWCA does not have a pool or weight room.
Does the YWCA Employment & Training Center only serve women?
No! Our center serves both men and women, those ages 18 or older who seek full-time employment, meet our grant eligibility guidelines, and who can best benefit from our services.
If I meet the eligibility for the Employment & Training Center, will I automatically be enrolled in the program?
Not necessarily. There are a limited number of program slots and funds available each year. As much as we would like to enroll anyone interested, our grants restrict us from doing so. We are not an entitlement program. We serve those who can most benefit from our services and whose plans tie in best with our mandated grant guidelines. If we can't provide you with our services, we often can refer you to another agency better able to provide the help and services you need.
Is the YWCA Preschool and Childcare Center open to the Community?
These Children’s Services programs are open to the public. The YWCA program is one of the few subsidized childcare and preschool programs in Billings; approximately 50% of our families receive assistance with their fees. The Gateway House clients may enroll their children through the usual methods, but since they are in shelter for only 90 days, their children often continue in the programs they are already enrolled in.
