Salute to Students
Application Deadline
The application dates for the Salute to Student scholarship are Jan. 15 - March, 1, 2012 at 4:30 pm!
The YWCA Billings is asking for applications from young women for the Salute to Students Scholarship Awards. The tuition scholarship can be used for any college, university, community college, or trade school for the Fall 2012 semester.
Recipients will be honored at the Salute YWCA reception on April 12 at 4:30 -6:00 p.m., and introduced at the "Salute to Women" banquet on April 19th, 2012!

We are pleased to announce that we are now taking scholarship applications from women of all ages who will be enrolled in any post-high school education program at an accredited institution. These $1,500 scholarships will be sent to the designated college, university, or trade school program to offset fall 2012 expenses.
The selection criteria for the YWCA of Billings Salute to Students Scholarship are based upon:
1) A completed application that demonstrates the student’s dedication to the mission of the YWCA as evident through the required essays and letters of recommendation.
2) A minimum 3.0 G.P.A. (or GED equivalent of 501) and a record of self motivation and perseverance in the academic environment. Performance is based on the academic transcript and letters of recommendation.
3) Applicants must be or have been a Montana high school graduate and/or current local resident.
4) Applicants must be enrolled in their post-secondary or graduate program in Fall 2012 with full-time status.
4) An interview (in person for current Billings applicants, phone interview for those attending school outside of Billings). After all the applications have been reviewed, a select group will be invited to this phase for an interview. Not all applicants will be interviewed.
All decisions of the Scholarship Committee are final and the scholarship must be applied directly to Fall 2012 expenses.
Please be sure your completed application consists of:
a) Three page application
b) Two letters of recommendation in a sealed envelope signed and dated on the flap.
c) A transcript from the most recent academic institution.
Mail or deliver the application packet to the YWCA of Billings at 909 Wyoming Ave., Billings, MT 59101 by 4:30pm on March 1, 2012.
